 Unleash your creativity and curiosity in our Introductory Taxidermy Class! Designed for beginners, this hands-on course offers a fascinating glimpse into the art and science of taxidermy.
Class begins promptly at 10am and ends at 4pm.
We provide each student with either a skinned, cleaned, and tanned racoon, opossum, or rat hide depending on the workshop you are taking.
The first half of class is focused on preparing your form, setting the eyes, test fitting and mounting the hide, as well as grooming.
After our first 30-minute break class shifts towards plaque preparation and mounting your project.
The class runs for approximately 6 hours with two 30-minute breaks throughout the day.

Sunset Moths Entomology Class $150USD Unlock the artistry of entomology in our Introductory Bug Pinning Workshop! This hands-on experience is perfect for nature enthusiasts, aspiring entomologists, or anyone interested in the intricate craft of insect preservation. Join us as we guide you through the techniques of preparing and pining insects, transforming them into beautiful, display-ready specimens.
The AM class will begin promptly at 10am and last 2.5 hours.
You will learn the foundational skills of bug pinning, including safe collection methods, proper handling, and the step-by-step process of pinning and mounting your specimen.
Class exclusive!: Two specimens for the price of one!
Your first specimen will be a moth or butterfly that will be used to practice your newly learned pinning technique. Once you’ve completed this step we will move on to creating your unique frame and placing your Sunset Moth in its display case.

"The Play That Goes Wrong" is a comedic play about a drama society attempting to stage a murder mystery called "The Murder at Haversham Manor". However, due to a series of mishaps, everything that can go wrong, does. The play follows the accident-prone thespians of The Cornley Drama Society as they battle against props falling apart, forgotten lines, and other technical difficulties, all while trying to keep the plot afloat. About the show
JANUARY BLUES:  Jimmy’s Juke Joint featuring Chuck Jackson and the C-Notes
Jimmy's Juke Joint is Jim Casson's weekly show that is hosted at Iggy's in Fonthill. The concept is Jim inviting his musical friends to come to Niagara and play with him. It can be any style on any given week. The only guarantee is that it will be great!
Joining Jim for this show will be his long time bandmates from The Legendary Downchild Blues Band and the Hogtown Allstars, Chuck Jackson, Gary Kendall & Teddy Leonard.
About the artists
Jim Casson - Drums
Jim Casson is a veteran of the Canadian Music Scene for over 40 years. He is a winner of the 2022 and the 2023 Maple Blues Award for Drummer Of The Year and was also nominated three times. His mantle boasts Maple Blues Awards, Jazz Report Awards, Hammer Blues Awards, nominations for Junos, Genies, Niagara Music awards and was inducted into The Escarpment Blues Society Hall Of Fame. He has released three critically acclaimed solo albums under the name “Dark Orchard”, four ambient albums under the name “The Reluctant Cosmonaut”, and three with his funky ensemble "Davis Hall & The Green Lanterns”. He composed the film score for the 2024 film “The Damnation”.
He is featured in the 2018 film “Almost, Almost Famous”. He spent 10 years cumulatively touring and recording with The Legendary Downchild Blues Band (Recorded 2 albums and winner of Maple Blues Award for Album of the Year). He has also toured throughout North America and Europe and / or recorded with The Maple Blues Band, The Hogtown All Stars, The Johnny Max Band, The Official Blues Brothers Revue (Musical Director), Rita Chiarelli, Jani Lauzon, Carlos del Junco, and many others. He has performed on over 100 albums. He graduated from the Mohawk College Applied Music program in 1986. He is the co-founder and artistic director of the Fonthill Bandshell Concerts and hosts a weekly radio show on CFBU called “Cerebral Cinema”.

Every age of astronomy has expanded our horizons, and modern astronomy surveys 14 billion years of history and 90 billion light years of observable universe. By pushing our understanding past our Solar System and beyond our Galaxy, we have learned that the largest scales that the universe are dominated by dark matter, which holds galaxies together, and dark energy, which is pushing our universe apart. Join us in the planetarium for a trip from Earth to the farthest, and oldest reaches of the universe. We'll highlight the discovery of dark matter, and dark energy and the search to unravel these biggest mysteries of the universe.

“banana” isn’t just slang — it’s a symbol of the performance, erasure, and reclamation of self.
Choreographers Andrew Tay and Stephen Thompson are the co-creators of Make Banana Cry, a genre-defying work merging runway aesthetics with contemporary performance and dance. 
In an attempt to shake off the weight of representation and fetishization, an international cast of six East Asian artists critique, parody, and protest stereotypes of “Asian-ness.” Slipping between the codes of couture and contemporary art, straddling spectacles of consumption and entertainment, Make Banana Cry is an impressive demonstration of physicality, an unrelenting examination of Western xenophobia, and an ingenious show of humour and wit.  Presented for the first time in Toronto after critically acclaimed performances at Impulstanz (Vienna), Portland Institute of Contemporary Art and Festival TransAmériques (Montreal).

Kate Cayley, whose novel Property has just been published by Coach House Press to general acclaim. She’s also written three collections of poetry, two short story collections, and her plays have been produced in Canada, the US and the UK. Winner of the Trillium Book Award, an O. Henry Prize, and the Mitchell Prize for Poetry, she has also been a finalist for the Governor General's Award for Fiction. Her work has appeared in Best Canadian Poetry and Best Canadian Stories, and she is a frequent writing collaborator with immersive company Zuppa Theatre. WebsiteAdam Sol, whose latest collection is Broken Dawn Blessings (ECW 2021), which won the Vine Award and the Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Poetry. He has published four other books of poetry and one collection of essays, How a Poem Moves: A Field Guide for Readers of Poetry. He is also the senior editor of Wolsak and Wynn Publishers where he created the poetry and fiction imprint Buckrider Books. Website / InstagramKārlis Vērdiņš is one of the most popular poets in Latvia, where he has published six poetry collections and four children's books. His works have been translated into nine languages, including Come to Me in English (Arc Publication, 2015). In 2014, the title poem of this collection was included in the list of 50 best contemporary love poems by the Southbank Center in London. His poem "Slugs,”was selected for the anthology 100 Queer Poems (Vintage, 2022). Vērdiņš is a significant voice in the academic exploration and promotion of queer visibility in the Baltics. Together with his partner Jānis Ozoliņš he co-edited the book Queer Stories of Europe, which focuses on queer culture in the region over more than a century.  For our third annual January Blues on Friday January 16, we present a very special guest,Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar. In the heart of Toronto, the captivating musical journey ofSamantha Martin & Delta Sugar began to take shape. Samantha, a 2-time JUNO nominee, anda 7-time female vocalist of the year nominee at Canada’s Maple Blues Awards, is a powerfulvocalist with a soulful voice that could pierce the depths of emotion.
A household name in Canada’s blues and retro-soul scene, Samantha and her label Gypsy Soul Records have beendubbed “The Daptone” of Canada. The band’s fresh and genre-bending approach to blues-based soul music is one of a kind and has even confused Rolling Stones magazine editors as tothe band’s genre. In fact, while Samantha’s latest record topped soul charts around the globe,she got a JUNO nomination in the blues category while receiving a “pick of the month” for bestcountry song from Rolling Stone Magazine.
The band released their debut album, Send the Nightingale, in 2015, which showcased theirexceptional song-writing and vocal prowess. The album received critical acclaim and garneredawards including the Maple Blues Award for New Artist of the Year. Subsequent albums, suchas Run to Me and The Reckless One, continued to build on their reputation for deliveringemotionally charged, soulful music, earning the band two JUNO Awards for Blues Album of theYear in 2018 and 2020.
In 2021, Samantha and the band earned the honour of being the firstCanadian artists to be nominated for International Artist of the Year at the 2021 UK BluesAwards. Samantha is one of two female artists ever to be awarded CIMA’s Road Gold award forselling over 25,000 tickets over any 12 month period on the road. Their recording The RecklessOne stayed at #1 for 38 consecutive weeks in the US Roots Radio Charts, topped the UKIndependent Blues broadcasters charts at #1, and managed to sneak into the Billboard Top200. Sam Burns is a stand up comedian, actor, and musician and has been on CBC Connects with Ron James, NXNE Festival, Sirius XM, JFL42 and Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Graduate of The Second City and Humber College's Comedy program. He's been making a name for himself touring all over North America over the past 10 years. His latest song, a pop-punk single called "Better Days," was released in October.Ryan Gaio is a singer-songwriter born & raised in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where he spent his days helping out on the family fruit farm and his evenings listening to the oldies station on AM radio. And it shows. The last year has seen him release two new singles and earn a slot opening a sold-out show for Hollerado. Him and his band are at work on a new full-length album, set for release in the spring.Their first co-release, "Needed A Moment", is a collaborative pop-punk anthem that blends silliness and sincerity.Opening the show is Jackie Pirico, a Juno-nominated comedian and broadcast with Indie 88. Known for her high-energy style and quirky, observational humor, Jackie has become a sought-after performer in the comedy scene, releasing her latest album, "Fire Flies", last month. For this special performance, Jackie will be doing a music set, accompanied by fellow Toronto comedian Michael Balazo.

Step behind the scenes of the Bata Shoe Museum’s stunning new exhibition, André Perugia: A Design Legend Unveiled, for a curator talk with Nishi Bassi, who will share how the exhibition came together - from sourcing rare loans to the curatorial decisions that shaped the many intricate design and storytelling elements. Discover how Perugia's innovative designs revolutionized footwear through bold experimentation, architectural form, and technical mastery, and how, nearly a century later, Perugia’s designs continue to influence fashion’s most daring creators. About the CuratorNishi Bassi, Curator and Exhibitions Project Manager at the Bata Shoe Museum, brings over 10 years of experience in the museum industry. Her educational background is in British history, and current research interests include fashion, consumer culture, and post-colonialism. She is also an EDI champion who strategically plans and advocates for change to ensure that accessibility remains a priority in all projects. Nishi has been with the Bata Shoe Museum since 2013, where she currently works as the Curator and Manager of Exhibitions. She also holds a volunteer position on the Board of Directors for ICOM Canada.

Originally conceived in 2013, The Hogtown Allstars began almost by accident whenfive members of The Downchild Blues Band were approached by Blues On The Rideaupromoter, James Doran, with a proposal for a one/off show that would take place duringthe main band’s annual winter hiatus. Chuck Jackson, Gary Kendall, Pat Carey, MikeFitzpatrick and Michael Fonfara added ex-Fathead guitarist Teddy Leonard to the bandand accepted the offer. A quick decision on the name by made reference totheir home base and the show was announced. More offers came in and the rest isCanadian blues history. A new band of not so new southern Ontario playersdedicated to the blues as an art form were on their way. The plan was to remain loyal toDownchild and fit in shows around the main band’s schedule. In 2022 Hog Wild wasreleased to overwhelming critical acclaim by Stony Plain Records and became aninstant classic.
Built with some of the most experienced players in the global bluesmusic community, the members of The Hogtown Allstars have won more than 20 MapleBlues Awards, 5 JUNO Awards and numerous international blues and jazz musicawards. Put all this together and you have a blues supergroup that cannot beunderestimated.

On the eve of Robbie Burns' birthday (January 25th), the renowned actor RH Thomson and a group of notable Toronto classical, roots and world musicians celebrate Burns' profound influence on freedom moments around the world.
In a 75-minute show devised by Alison Mackay, well known for her special attractions for Tafelmusik, the seven-member ensemble features stories and songs related to American abolitionist Frederick Douglass, India's Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore and Ukrainian poet laureate Taras Shevchenko, as well as the songs and poetry of Burns himself.

Three-time JUNO nominee Suzie Ungerleider (formerly Oh Susanna) returns to Toronto to celebrate her luminous new album, Among the Evergreens—a collection hailed by UNCUT as “thoughtful, luminous, expressive” and by MOJO as “as sweet as folk-Americana comes.” The record traces Suzie’s journey from youthful dreams to the wisdom of experience, with nature-rich imagery and story-songs that land like letters from an old friend.
